La Louviere was built in 1978 on a family-owned plot where a mountain chalet had previously stood. The chalet is located on the Route des Champions in Comborcière and faces due south

The GIROLLET family lives on the 1st floor while the ground floor with its 200m2 south-facing terrace, is occupied by le Petit Loup

The chalet has been through 3 other phases of renovation :

First in 1988 with the construction of a garage but more noticeably with a complete facelift since the chalet was repainted in brown

Then in 2003 with the construction of a terrace and the renovation of le Petit Loup

Finally in 2009 with the construction of the very comfortable Grand Loup, an 85m2 apartment over 2 floors adjoining the chalet

The view from the chalet of the surrounding mountains is stunning: in the morning, we get up admiring not only les Aiguilles d’ Arves but also the more distant Massifs des Ecrins

During the summer in La Toussuire the pastures are grazed by the cows (whose milk produces the famous Beaufort cheese) as well as by horses and sheep

From the chalet it is often possible to see and observe wildlife; marmots are commonplace while chamois and ibex roam the Mont-Corbier nearby. Wolves, whilst also present, remain discreet
